Hugh Bonneville
Hugh Bonneville: born November 10, 1963 (Scorpio)
Except for Downton Abbey, Hugh Bonneville is best known for the films Iris (co-starring Kate Winslett) and Notting Hill. Bonneville was trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Other famous alumni include Minnie Driver, Julian Fellowes, and Angela Lansbury. This french speaking actor, always so serious on Downton, includes “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as one of his favourite sitcoms.
Bonneville started acting on the stage. He played Laertes to Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet in 1992. In 1999, he appeared as Bernie in Notting Hill. In 2001, he played the young John Bayley opposite Kate Winslet in Iris. His performance wowed critics and he was nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Supporting Actor.
